Helping Your Battery Live Longer

Battery Guardian offers an easy way to remember to deplete your battery. 30 days after your battery was last depleted, Battery Guardian will remind you.

Battery Guardian helps you keep your Mac battery healthy. A healthy battery is one that is regularly depleted and charged all the way back up.

Fun and Easy Reminder

How are you notified? Battery Guardian puts a small heart in the top-right of the screen. When your battery needs depleting, the heart will turn red.

Battery Guardian can also add an event to your calendar to remind you. This can be particularly useful because the calendar can be shared across all your devices. A quick look at your calendar from any device, will let you know if your laptop battery is due for attention.

How Battery Guardian Works

When running, Battery Guardian shows a heart in the top-right of your screen. Every 30 days the heart turns red to indicate your battery needs depleting.

If you deplete your battery before the 30 days are up, Battery Guardian will notice and will adjust the next reminder automatically.

At any time, click on the heart to show how many days are left before depleting the battery is needed.

Battery Condition

Battery Guardian additionally lets you know how your battery is doing. Click on the Battery Guardian's menu bar heart to reveal an easy to understand battery condition indicator. If you see three full stars then you know your battery is healthy. But if you see one star or a warning, then it is time to visit an Apple Store for help.

Why Deplete?

What does depleted mean? Your battery is depleted when it has been used from full charge all the way down to empty.
