Upgrading Notes

These notes provide upgrading and updating advice for existing Power Manager customers.

Power Manager 4

Your Power Manager 4 licence is valid for all upgrades of Power Manager 4.x.

Your Power Manager Professional 4 licence is valid for all upgrades of Power Manager Professional 4.x.

Upgrading from Power Manager 3 to 4

Power Manager 4 is a paid upgrade from all previous versions. There are no upgrade discounts.

Customers who purchased Power Manager 3 on or after 1st April 2010, have been sent equivalent Power Manager 4 licences by e-mail.

You can install Power Manager 4 over an existing copy of Power Manager 3.

Your existing schedule will be automatically converted to work with Power Manager 4. However, we recommend creating a new schedule in Power Manager 4. Power Manager 4 is dramatically more capable and offers a wide range of new event types. Recreating your schedule will let you take full advantage of these new features.

Power Manager 3

Your copy of Power Manager 3 will continue to work with Mac OS X 10.4, Mac OS X 10.5, and Mac OS X 10.6.

Download the latest version of Power Manager 3.

After Major Mac OS X Updates

You should make sure your copy of Power Manager is updated after all major upgrades to the Mac OS X operating system, e.g. Mac OS X 10.5 - Mac OS X 10.6.

Major Mac OS X updates can change files Power Manager relies on. It is important to keep your copy of Power Manager up to date. Whenever possible, we will provide advice regarding major Mac OS X changes. This advice will be published here and on the DssW news feed.

Migration Assistant Notes

After using the Migration Assistant to set up your Mac, install a new copy of Power Manager. Any existing schedule and licence details will not be affected by a re-install.
