Resetting the PMU is not a bad thing to try with power problems:

  3. I have the same problem with a PowerBook G4 Titanium DVI that got dropped. it works perfectly except that the battery wont charge. coconutBattery shows that my battery is in decent condition and that it is discharged. so the laptop sees the battery but wont charge it. it wont boot from the battery (not enough power in the battery??) but if i unplug the computer while booting it will continue to boot off of the battery but i only tried this for a few seconds. tried the usual pmu reset (button under the keyboard), Command-Option-P-R, reset-nvram and reset-all in Open Firmware (which is accessed by holding down Command-Option-O-F while powering on) and other things. my battery still wont charge. any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks

  4. The battery won't start charging until its level drops below 95%.
