1. Behavior is the following.
I work with the battery connected, at 99%.
When I disconnect and work outside, very soon the
computer shuts down as if the battery was low, even
if it is at 70%. I need to reconnect the battery,
    which charges up to 99%.
It is an Apple refurbished machine.
    Any hint ?
    Thanks,

    -JG

  2. Did you follow Apple's instructions when you first got the MacBook to calibrate the battery? If not, try that now.

  3. I did not. Now, it does not work as the battery shuts down very quickly. Should I reset the PMU ? Can it hurt ?

  4. if the machine suddenly shuts down when the battery has a 70% charge, then the battery most likely has a failed internal cell which caused the whole battery pack to drop below the necessary voltage to run the computer.

if it is under warranty (and refurbished ones have a full one year), then get it replaced. otherwise, you'll need to buy a new battery.
