emac fails when putting to sleep

   Hi,
   I hope I do not ask a question about a well know problem.

   My emac (G4 1.25Mhz) has become lately erratic when I put him in sleep mode. If I wake him up the CRT will bang with a sound like a degauss and the power is down.
   Pressing the power button will not work until I have disconnected the Power cord and wait 10-20 sec.

   I tried some google search but could not find any reports about this problem (or searched for the wrong keywords)

   Could it be a problem with the prom battery?
   Or is my power module defect?

   That sounds suspiciously like symptoms my Apple CRT exhibited before it failed. I hope not for you.

   Have you checked the system log to see if any errors are logged when the wake event happens?

   Viewing Crash, Console, and System Logs

   1. Open /Applications/Utilities/Console.

   2. From the Console menu bar, select File > View System Log.

   3. From the Console menu bar, select File > View Console Log.

   The system log will usually give you an indication as to what is causing startup issues. The console log can show issues you experience after you are logged into your user account.

   If a particular application is crashing, you may find a crash log in /Users/you/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/ for that application.
