Fan activity with Leopard

Hi,
iMac G5 without iSight + Leopard 10.5.6
Since I've made the upgrade from Panther 10.3.9 to Leopard 10.5.6, I have noticed that the Fan activity is bigger, there's much more noise and they runs Faster ...
Is it because Leopard needs more power from the CPU ?
(in comparaison with Panther)What's your experience / feedback ?
TIA,
Thierry

Thierry,
Mac OS X Leopard is more graphically demanding than previous OSes and is also more CPU intensive. Some additional fan noises are normal.
How long does it take for the fans to speed up? Does fan activity increase during CPU intensive applications?

Pas de probleme, mon vieux.....
You may wish to activate the application in your Utilities folder, Activity Monitor and, uh, 'monitor' , er, the 'activity' it shows. It should reveal what applications or processes are using up CPUs.
