My g5 seems back to normal, I picked it up this morning. I have never heard it so quiet. It seems to have been the Logic Board, as they have replaced it.
I am thank full to you all who tried to offer me help.
Thanks again.
Kev
Now one more thing if i start to leave the machine on all the time, and just put it into sleep mode when i am out at work will this be okay?
I have the 23inch Cinema display attached to it, and notice the light pulses, will this do any harm to the screen? Does putting it sleep mode power down the monitor, even though the light is still pulsing......
Again Thanks everyone for your help

Sleep it. Think of the Pacific Islanders.
The monitor is using sod all power when sleeping. LEDs don't pump out much Carbon.

Nice one.
I usually leave mine to sleep, and simply turn off the monitor when I'm out.

Now that's an idea. A computer monitor combined with beverage machine. They'll sell thousands...
