MacBook Battery Issue

  1. After a night of working on my 10 month old MacBook, I plugged in my computer this morning. Instead of charging, an X-battery symbol appeared. The battery is not charging but rather, the computer is running directly off of the power cord. What do I need to do to fix this?

Thanks in advance for any help you send my way.

  2. I just had the same problem with my MacBook last week- I took it to the Apple Store here and they replaced it for free. One thing they recommended is that you calibrate your battery on a regular basis- (see the instructions on page 13 of your owners manual) But there was nothing that they could do to fix it- in fact, they didn't even try to fix it- they just switched it out without asking any questions.

    Good luck-

I visited the Mac Store near me today. After checking to make sure that it wasn't the laptop, they gave me a replacement battery. Very easy. Thank you for your help.
