Just got a new emac to replace an iMac 400. The kids are having trouble with AIM instant messaging. When the eMac goes to sleep it knock AIM off the internet. When Aim awakens it signs back on but has missed any messages her friends have sent her. Is there anyway short of not putting the machine sleep to keep her signed on?
Another question, how much more power will the eMac use with just the display and HD sleeping with out putting the eMac to sleep?
Thanks for any information.

Full sleep uses next to no power, so it'll use lots more.
Thanks for any information.
