My MacBook Pro (OS 10.4.11) seems to be developing sleep problems. When I open the lid, sometimes the screen stays dark for up to five minutes and perhaps longer (I give up). Other times if I don't enter my password within a couple of seconds the screen goes black and stays black too. Occasionally, if I shut the lid and wait for the light to blink slowly (as it does when asleep) and open it then, then all's well. Other times (like today) the light stayed fully bright (no blinking) when the lid closed. The problem seems to be worsening.
Any ideas as to what I need to do?
Thanks

Might be worth an SMC reset.

Thanks Jim. Tried that and it was okay for a week or so and now it's gradually getting worse. Feels like a problem that grows!
