wake remote mac from sleep?

Hi there
I can access a remote iMac behind NAT when it's awake, but I forgot that it was set to sleep after x mins... Is there a cunning way to wake it up? A quick google showed me a few posts saying no, but I'd better check.

There's a magic wake on LAN ethernet packet that will wake the machine up. It works, but as you need to send it from the same subnet as the Mac your answer's "no" :-(
You also need to have wake on LAN enabled of course.

Don't ya love learning ;) Thanks for the confirmation. I had it all working and wake-uppable while on the same LAN and then only tested it via WAN while the iMac was awake... d'oh. You only do that once, I suppose...
Thanks for the reply, Chris

Try http://www.dslreports.com/wakeup with port 9 forwarded through to the imac. I can't say whether this works but based on what it says on the tin...
Cheers

Thanks, Paul
I just did the manual adjustment trick of driving across town to change the Energy Saver preferences instead.
Tonight I shall mostly be wearing analogue...
