Does anyone know of a way to program an iMac to come out of hibernation at a certain time each day? Like a digital thermostat, programmable for M-F and S-S?
Thanks!

You can set up a startup or wake event for certain days of the week in System Preferences > Energy Saver > Schedule.
If you need more control, or want to configure multiple events, you can do so with the 'pmset' command-line tool. For details about this tool, issue the 'man pmset' command in a terminal window. You can read some details about the command here as well:

Thanks. Will have to give that a try when I get my iMac.

I just discovered something in my wanderings as I prepare for my new iMac. I can set the time for it to wake up using the display settings. I don't have to resort to programming, at least not for what I want. Thanks again for the help. Just thought others looking for this ought to know there's an easier way.

It's in the Energy Saver settings, not displays, and JR told you that six days ago.

Thanks for clearing that up, Mike. My memory is as imperfect as my dictionary! :)

Um, I came up with that information simply by reading _your_ post, which cited JR's post in its entirety.

Like I said above, yes, I read it. Then I forgot it. I do that sometimes. Then I ran across the same thing somewhere else.

Well Mike, I'm glad I made your day! :)
