Editor Limit Reached

Event editor limits and their impact on the Scheduler.

Power Manager’s macOS event editor has built-in limits. When an event exceeds the limits of the editor, a warning is displayed at the top of the editor. The event’s contents are truncated and an additional warning is placed after the truncation.

The warning reads:

Editor Limit Reached

This event’s editor has been truncated because of macOS limitations.

The event is unaffected and supported by the Scheduler. Use an alternative editor for larger events.

The technical limitation is within the editor and macOS’s handling of complex large interfaces.

The event is not affected. An event constrained by the event editor’s limits can continue to be scheduled and relied upon.

Events that exceed the built-in limits can be edited using the scripting interface or another editing tool, such as pmctl.

If these limits are affecting your events, please get in touch and let us know.
