With 10.2.6 is there a way I can rejoin a wireless network automatically after sleep? So I don't have to manually select the network from the Airport icon in the menubar?

Open up the System Prefs, and choose your AirPort card from the pop-up menu. Click on the AirPort tab. There, you can choose which network to join after restart or sleep.
