10.2.8 sucks batteries; does Panther?

So what is the consensus about Panther and the AlBook's battery life? Does it also suck battery juice more so than 10.2.6?

Of course, I want to upgrade to panther.

Why? The problems have been fixed. The version of 10.2.8 that is available now should not cause any battery issues. I'm running 10.2.8 on my 17" PB G4, and have no battery problems.

Of course, at the same time, if 10.2.8 doesn't provide you with any vital bug-fixes, there's no real reason to upgrade either.

I wouldn't worry about Panther, I haven't heard anything about battery issues in Panther. (Though I admit I don't have it yet and thus don't have first-hand experience.)
