dual 2.0 G5 fans always on

Message #1 - Posted 2005/07/27 - Fetch, Rover, Fetch

At work we have the above computer
the logic board was damaged - probably power surge -
anyway the logic board was replaced, and ever since the fans run at nearly full throttle - constantly

ideas to stop this??

I have done little, I did check that the plastic and metal 'doors' are seated correctly.

the OS is up to date (10.3.9) and there are no firmware updates pending according to software update.

any help is appreciated -
thanks

Whoever replaced the logic board probably failed to do the required thermal recalibration. The software to do this is only available to Apple-authorized repair centers, so that's where you'll have to take the G5.

Get it repaired.

Jeezus, mine was as noisy as a jet plane the
one time I ran diagnostics.
