G4 Power Book - Battery life

Message #1 - Posted 2004/11/22 - Tom

Hi

G4 15inch power book
1.5 Ghz
512Meg RAM

Getting the battery to last about 2 hours max at the moment - Just running normal desktop type stuff - nothing I/O or CPU intensive.

Anyone know if i should be getting better battery life than that? Its about 7 months old so i don't think the battery should be suffering yet.

thanks

It sounds a little low.

Apple's got some useful battery advice here:

Cheers,

Mine lasted for two years before I had to replace it. You could try re-calibrating the battery - see:

Also take a look at http://www.apple.com/batteries/notebooks.html for lots of other info. about PowerBook/iBook batteries. You can even download an iCal reminder to tell you when to charge/discharge your battery for maximum life.
