G4 sleep problems...

Message #1 - Posted 2005/10/03 - Squonk

Have a G4 Dual 450, 1.25GB RAM, 80GB + 40GB HDD, ATI 7000 Graphics Card, Pioneer 107 DVD/CD Burner (supported), OS X (10.4.2) and all seems to be running fairly well until.......I put it into sleep mode and on awakening I got the dreaded Kernal Panic!!
Anyone out there get this problem? Any cures?

The most likely suspect is the Radeon card. Does it have the latest firmware from August of 2005? If you've still got the original AGP card, try running without the Radeon 7000 to see if the problem goes away.

Have you always had this problem, or did it start recently? Any new hardware, such as external USB or FireWire devices?
