iBook battery dying...

If it does, any ideas where the best (i.e. cheapest) place to get one?

I'm pretty sure it's dead anyway, I'm just trying a calibration, but it's flattening at the rate of about 1% charge every minute or so. I'll see how it does after the calibration, but I'm not too hopeful.

Ooh, thanks, £34 ain't too shabby - it's less than some s/h ones on eBay.

TWO years. Lucky you, my MBP battery started dying after 6 months (75% capacity).

Local Apple store replaced without hesitation. But even the replacement is showing the first signs of dropping capacity :-(

The macbook one barely made 14 months, but the MBP one is still good after 15. The power supply has been replaced though (umm.. and the motherboard now I think of it).

Bum, I didn't get Applecare with this one either (although the only machines I did get AC with, failed outside the warranty anyway).

I've found a little utility that shows it's on the way out - original storage 4400mAh, current storage is about 1100mAh :-(

I think that there was a problem with some of the MBP batteries. I had the same issue [1] and dug around to find Apple was doing a recall.

I did it by post.

Hmm. Get coconutBattery onto it or something. Apple do listen to the test values it produces.
