iBook menu-bar battery icon

What is the significance of the different menu-bar icons when connected to the mains adapter/charger? Sometimes the battery has a Z flash in it, yet at others it has a 2-pin plug. I'm confused.

One is charging and the other if fully charged!

Z charging, Prong - charged, running off mains.

Obvious.
