I need to replace the thin cable in my iBook power adapter. I know I can buy a whole new adapter, but it seems wasteful; there's nothing wrong with the transformer, the cable got broken. (I promise to be more careful from now on.)
If I disassemble the transformer case, will it ever go back together again?
Are there any tricks beyond just prying it with a screwdriver? Can I buy a replacement cable with the correct plug?
Thanks for any help.

Is this a white iBook? Where exactly did the wire break?
