keyboard backlight not working ?

Message #1 - Posted 2005/02/03 - yomgui

hello,

on my powerbook g4 17"
the keyboard backlight never shows up.
the F10 button shows a transparent window on the screen with an icon and a level bar,
but this level stays at zero with a "forbidden" sign below.

is it broken ?
how does the system know about it ("forbidden" sign) ? thanks for your help.

if there is too much ambient light it will not turn on and the F10 will not work. Try it in a dark room. If it still does not work search the PB17 forum at Apple.com as there is a post on how to make it work. Fred
