Thanks for any suggestions.

I'm having the same problem (I posted on comp.sys.mac yesterday about it before finding your post). Sometimes is seems to sleep okay and other times it doesn't... Maybe it's something we've both installed.

Me too, same problem. Though I don't know yet whether it's intermittent or happens every time.

Do you have an external drive or another partition?

I have an external firewire drive which can sometimes cause the machine to fail to wake in the following circumstances. If I dismount the drive, then turn it off, and then put the machine to sleep, it won't wake up. If I instead dismount the drive, then put the machine, and then turn off the drive, there is no trouble. I notice when I do that the red LED on the drive lights up when the machine goes to sleep. So if the drive is off the machine seems to get upset somehow.

I have an external firewire drive, but it's been fine waking up when it's gone to sleep with it connected. I haven't partitioned my hard drive in the computer.

I've never had the problem when I'm at home - only at work, where I'm connected to ethernet and sometimes am using the Mail program (which has been set to check the mail every 30 minutes). I thought that it might have been the Space Dock program I had recently started using, but it just did the not waking from sleep thing again with that program deleted. (although it seemed to be working fine after I did that yesterday...)

Maybe it's just something to do with what's attached to the computer when it goes to sleep...

I have the original 10 gig drive in 3 partitions and a second 30 gig drive in one partition. I also have an IOGear 5 port USB PCI card. That's it for add-ins.
