Macbook Pro power cable

Can I use a regular 'figure 8' power lead with the power supply, or does it have to be a certain polarity. Just wondering, because it's a sort of B shape, but fits the other type of connector (I'd rather leave a short one in my bag to save unplugging it).

Yeah, at least going by the fact that I did just that with my PB, and I'm using some of the same plugs with my MBP. If you look at the small plugs that come with them you'll see they're standard figure-of-8 too.
