I have an iMac 400 DV which I bought in October of 2000 and I think my battery has died. I seems like that is waaaaaayyyyy to short for a battery to live. Anyone have any ideas about this? My clock has started acting up (especially when I unplug it) and the highlight color has switched back to default. Again, these seem to be battery related. Could it be something else?
You're not supposed to unplug this machine; doing so causes the PRAM battery to die. This was covered in Power Management Update 1.1; sounds like you haven't installed this. See KB article 120048. m.
