PC power supply in G4

Message #1 - Posted 2007/07/17 - soli

Service Computer Marketing is offering a system whereby a PC power supply can replace the Apple part. The Apple unit is possibly the weakest component in the G4 and has been a problem for some time particularly in hot weather. I think Apple should have had a recall

Has anyone tried the SCM adapter and could they please comment

I was wondering if it would work in our G4 eMac.

The G4 I'm referring to is the tower/desktop.

Yes, but there were several different models of G4 tower - Sawtooth, Yikes, MDD, etc.
