Powerbook G4 Battery Life.

Would appreciate to know the battery life one has after a full recharge for a Powerbook G4 15.1" 1.0GHz Combo.

Mine only shows about 2hrs 40min to 3hrs 11mins after a recharge.

This is so much less than the 5hrs Apple says the Powerbook is capable off.

Shouldnt the battery show that there is at least 5hrs then after a recharge?

I assume this is the new series aluminium powerbooks rather than the earlier titanium powerbooks? (I don't believe there ever was a 1GHz combo 15" titanium)

The model (al vs ti) will likely make a difference to what battery life they get.

It will vary depending on power drain. 5 hours is probably with the computer screen on the dimmest setting (or backlight off even), no CDs in the drive, MacOS 9 as the system, HDD spun down etc etc. MacOS X uses more battery as it generally needs the HDD most of the time for virtual memory. 2-3 hours is about right.
