PowerBook G4 Sleep Question

When the unit is actually plugged in, it does not go to sleep, but does appear to spin down the disk and does blank the display.

I have the Energy Saver control panel set to put my PowerBook G4 to sleep when it is plugged in or on battery.

When the unit is actually plugged in, it does not go to sleep, but does appear to spin down the disk and does blank the display. The pulsing white LED is never turned on.

When the unit is running off the battery, then it goes to sleep properly and the white LED is pulsing.

Any ideas?
