Hi,
I have a Powerbook 12". so far there has been no problems what-so-ever. however, lately, i noticed that this powerbook infrequently has trouble "waking-up" after many hours of use during the day. The scenario is like this: the unit is on and I often close the LCD and it goes into sleep mode (fine)... after trying to open the LCD again, usually the computer wakes up... however a few times already, the computer LCD screen blacks out and does not come on and seems like the machine is on still, but can't see anything. I have to therefore take the battery out and unplug the a/c so i can do a hard reset. I never had this problem before.
A) is there something wrong with my powerbook? B) is the LCD going bad? C) any other issues i need to worry about?

D) the inverter is going bad.(if you still see something on the dark screen)

nope, don't see anything on the dark screen. the LCD is completely off or dark when this happens. any other suggestions?

You should try with a clean installation first. If it is a hardware related problem I would expect to see the same problems at startup too. Did it ever remained dark at startup?
