reliable ipod car chargers?

I commute 200 miles a day to work and use my iPod each and every mile.

I finally took the plunge and bought an ipod. I have been reading the Apple site for car chargers but I keep seeing stories of ipods being damaged. I did a few cursory searches on the net and cannot find a guaranteed 100% safe charger. Any ideas?

I have the kind of charger where it also allows me to play the iPod through my car's FM radio. I haven't had any problem with it damaging my iPod, but I also don't use it much. I know a lot of people with iPods who use them in their cars and I don't recall hearing any of them complain about a problem with them.

I am using the DLO Transpod charger / FM transmitter (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-Q8gKprU6nz2/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?search=dlo+ipod&i=615TRANPD2)

I have used an iPod nano and iPod video in it without any issues.

Regards
