sleep problem in OS10.3.3 ???

the fans stay on and the computer doesn't go into a typical deep sleep where the computer is dead quiet and in very low energy mode.

Has anyone heard of a sleep problem in OS10.3.3? A B&W G3 doesnít seem to be able to go to sleep anymore in 10.3.3. The dark screen works in the energy saver and when I tell the computer to go to sleep, it sounds like something is spinning down inside, but the fans stay on and the computer doesn't go into a typical deep sleep where the computer is dead quiet and in very low energy mode. I think it did it once but since updating to 10.3.3, it won't do it either with commands to sleep or after 1 hour (set for sleep in the energy saver pref. pane). Since Mac is unattended a lot, I don't want it continually running. The setup includes a Sonnet 700 MHz Encore/ZIF processor upgrade, an old Adaptec 2940UW SCSI card to hook up to an internal 18 GB SCSI hard drive, and two internal ATA drives. Since the Adaptec card is pretty old, I removed it and disconnected power to the SCSI drive, but it didnít matter so thatís not the problem. Thanks

The B&W G3 doesn't support deep sleep.

Thanks for the info. All the other macs that I work with do so I assumed the same for the B&W.
