Tiger 10.4.x natively supports the APC Back UPS 1150 I bought at Sam's Club for $149.00. No need to install the Powerchute software. It pops right up in the Energy Saver preference panel. I have tested it and it shuts down my dual 2.5 Power Mac ok. Tiger supports UPS's without additional software.

Thanks very much for this. I knew the Mac could shut itself down, bu couldn't figure out how.

A very helpful posting, and very much appreciated.
