Wake from sleep audio problem

Since then, the fans switch off during sleep. and, upon waking, the audio output from the Audiowerk card is at a slower speed.

I use a PCI card (emagic Audiowerk ) for main audio output.

When sleeping, the G4's fans have always remained on.

Yesterday I installed drivers and software for a Canon 8400F scanner. Since then, the fans switch off during sleep. and, upon waking, the audio output from the Audiowerk card is at a slower speed. Built-in audio is not affected.

Tried uninstalling the scanner software. No change.

Suggestions are welcome for either:

a) returning to the former fans-on sleep mode

b) fixing the Audiowerk's slow-up-on-wake

Also, the condition persists after PRAM reset and when booted from another drive.
