Why does ibook keep trying to access CD Drive while asleep?

My ibook periodically tries to access the CD drive while sleeping.

Just another of the MANY Mac problems. No problems at all with CD access while my Win XP machines are in Sleep mode.

Just another of the MANY Mac problems. No problems at all with CD access while my Win XP machines are in Sleep mode.
